This is basically Florida. Tons of massive trucks on the roads, all driven by assholes that I will judge absolutely by their truck alone.

I think the ever growing machismo bullshit in America has subconsciously made me a different (better) person out of spite. I grew my hair super long again, and embrace liking kawaii and other cute and chill cultures, despite being a straight cis white male that wears mostly black and listens to metal.

Why tf do people still buy these games? I have GamePass and still avoid them like the plague. The series hasn’t been good since like the first Black Ops.

Oh god that sucks lmao. Cleaning up hot, wet coffee grounds is not a fun chore at all.

Don’t feel bad. I did this once with a half carafe of coffee. Forgot to put the stupid carafe underneath before hitting the button and walking away. Suddenly my wife goes “wow, it really smells like coffee in here,” as I walk out to find it all over the counter and floor.

I refreshed and hacked my N3ds XL recently and have been playing a ton of classics. A few:

Getting Pretendo setup has been fun. I can play MK7 online again and there’s always people playing!

Yep, this is my setup. I did the whole *arr apps, Plex and Usenet setup for years, but hated dealing with storing the files. It also didn’t help when my 8TB drive decided to act up and make files inaccessible.

Now I stream everything through Stremio with RD+. Works on every device flawlessly.

I bought it for the Xbox X. Runs amazing but I get why people would skip. DRM and forced raytracing is pretty sucky. I’ve already beaten it and am on my second play through. I’ve been a Doom addict since childhood when I played Knee-deep in the Dead.

I refuse to pay $80 for a game and Borderlands fell off after the second one, so good luck with that. $70 was also a bridge too far for 99% of games (I made the exception for gems like Elden Ring).

Similar tactic for cellular service: tell them the company you work for is giving you a phone. That has worked for me in the past. It’s impossible for them to compete with free.

I have avoided working for the FAANG companies my entire career and I’m happier for it.

I recommend skipping the article and instead skimming through the TED talk. It at least sounds like they’re using it as a tool to assist their artists, but the end result still has the same exact uncanny valley look we see on every AI video any ol’ person on the internet can make.

And there is where art truly goes to die. Suddenly every creative outlet is using the same tools and everything comes out with the same exact weird sheen. ILM is supposed to be a pioneer in this stuff and I respect that they’re not straight up replacing artists (yet) with this, but they’re ultimately sacrificing any aesthetics they’ve employed for years.

At the end of the day, all of this stuff boils down to speed, and that endless increase in speed is driven… by capitalism. We’re sacrificing aspects of our creative processes so that we can churn more out, instead of taking the time needed to make something truly unique.

This kind of thing will 100% kill any chance of me buying another Switch.

Yep, same story for me. Was on them for probably a year and it changed my mood in ways I did not like. It became noticeable to my wife and she hated how short I would get. It also made me hyper-fixate way too hard on things.

Same story when I was a kid too. They misdiagnosed me as hyperactive but I am not. So the meds I got basically put me the fuck to sleep. I quit using them after like 1-2 uses because I was sleeping in class, which was completely out of character for me (I was never a great student but I never slept in class).

I was on meds and quit. Hated the mood changes.

This game is so much fun, even when I’m the loner getting my ass handed to me on my sloop (which is most of the time). Seeing a ship looming in the distance and wondering if it’s going to come after you is such a rush.

AI image generation is going to royally fuck up the body image for a lot of people. We’re going to get to a point where we can no longer discern between reality or fantasy.

People will get a handle on voice generation AI so that they can make the person they secretly obsess over, tell them all sorts of things without their knowledge. It can also be used to impersonate a relative or friend for phone scams.

AI glasses are going to do facial recognition on people without their knowledge, and some creepy motherfuckers are going to use it to stalk women. The AI will give you info on some historic building, while simultaneously making you a surveillance tool for the state.

AI bots are already flooding every platform and being used to spread propaganda. They are the employees that never sleep. We all know how widespread they are on Reddit.

This is a window into the future with AI in the hands of sociopaths and corporations. They are going to doom us to a world that is devoid of a soul or human connection.

Playing the Oblivion remaster and hanging out with a friend. He comes over and him, my wife and myself play Mario Party and chill. I’ve been sick for the past couple days and feel like I’m coming out of it, so I’ll be recovering too.
