Are we… Are we related?
Today at work, I needed to make some orange jello that would be poured over mandarin oranges in small meal cups with plastic lids. Well, yea boi, read the instructions three times to make sure to not mess it up like I have done before in the past. (Too much water ain’t good for jello setting.) Well wouldn’t you believe it. Yea boi messed up. It calls for 2 litters of very hot water and to add two cold liters of water after mixing in the jello powder. I still don’t understand how I fucked this up. Like really. I. Have. No. Idea. Why my brain blocked/jumped to accepting that 34 Fl. Oz. was two liters of water per batch. …Which means that I only made each package with 3 liters of water… I didn’t realize this was the case until I was finishing up making the last package (out of 7) of jello mix to pour. (fml.)
Expectations are one of the biggest pitfalls for me. Whether they be mine, a friend/family member, a work manager, coworker, or sometimes others. It gets to me and can make me feel very frustrated and/or overwhelmed.
It’s been a loooonnnngggg journey for me to better understand that this is one of my triggers and how to best prevent it and work with it when it happens. (It’s not pretty at times but showing up to fight the good fight is better than cowering to it IMO.)
You’re welcome
I’ll be watching the last two episodes of Star Trek Enterprise season 3. I’m looking forward to the ending of the season. One more season to go, and then I proceed to Star Trek: Discovery. All part of my astronomical goal to watch all of the Star Trek shows and movies in chronological order.
If you didn’t already know, there is an Alien (and Predator) community called [email protected]. Come join us! =)
Godbeav’a
I would suggest setting your account to filter by “new” content. “Scale” is also useful. IIRC: It filters like “new” but uses an algorithm to show content from more of the subbed communities, instead of only showing content most recently posted, from your subs.
Well first off, welcome back!
What kind of content or communities (that’s what we call subreddits,) are you looking for?
If you’re looking for communities, I would suggest starting with this nifty website It has a visual database of… (checks notes) 28,178 communities (!?!) and 563 instances to choose from.
If you’re looking for content, there’s nothing wrong with searching all and new. Check out [email protected] for help finding newer communities. And here is a long list of communities that aren’t political, full of memes or tech.
And if you have any questions about Lemmy, head over to [email protected] for assistance.
I’m glad that Furbys, inflatable furniture, and disposable cameras are no longer mainstream. And may they never return.
(In a Morgan Freeman narrator voice) Oh how wrong they were. Some might say that they shit the bed with such thinking and actions. Others… Might believe that they didn’t know better. The fuck they didn’t! The ‘all mighty dollar’ was their carrot on a stick that was placed in front of them by nearly soul dead board members and deep pocketed ‘investors.’ A fixation on the “all mighty dollar” in this extreme capitalistic parent company EA, has shown us endless times, they don’t give a fuck about you or your hobby. Just as long as you continue to throw your money at them like a good little dipshit who can’t seem to realize that you’re being played.
Chronological to series.
This is the guide I’ve decided to follow. Chronological Order It used to include the movies in the timeline but it’s been edited out since this year.
I watched the last two episodes of Silo season 2. It’s one of my favorite TV shows to date. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a new show to get into.
I might continue watching Star Trek in chronological order again. I left off in season 2 of Star Trek: Enterprise. It’s a gigantic undertaking but I feel it’s worth it for several reasons. The biggest is my love of speculative science, the optimistic perspective of the human race, the conflict resolutions that are used throughout, and storytelling.
should run on older hardware
How old are we talking?
Better yet, what minimum system requirements should the game be able to run on?
Steam collects hardware info (that people opt-in for) over the years. Here is the searchable database.
Here are 10 songs I’ve been listening to for the past week or so.
The Hives - Hate To Say I Told You So
DJ-Mar-T - Gentleman (Club Mix)
Machine Girl - Athoth A Go!! Go!!
Rudimental, 1991, PNAU, AR/CO - The Feeling
I started in on the documentary called Aliens Expanded It goes in depth about all the things that happened and didn’t happen while making the movie Aliens. It’s nearly 4 hours long, so I’ve been watching it in large chunks. I’m an hour and a half in and I’m enjoying it.
I did a bit of reading and writing for a short story idea I have. Other than that, learning about things via Youtube, and playing video games.
Is that… Is that a Homeworld mothership?
I read this very much like it was a comment on [email protected], and it added to the overall read.
