I’ve fallen asleep during every episode. This does not happen with other shows, except for one or two really slow episodes of Severance. I have no idea what the problem is.

There just isn’t that kind of leftist discourse in America. If there are communists here, I’ve never met one in real life, and I live in a very progressive region. Lemmy has been my first real exposure to anything further left of democratic socialism. I’m not sure why non-Americans are so continually surprised that we use “liberal” framework to discuss politics (that word means something completely different to us than it does to you). It would be great if the far right didn’t keep moving us to the right, but that’s the situation we live in. As capitalism fails, more people are waking up to the class struggle, but you can’t just change a whole country’s political paradigm overnight.
Well, you’re reading it wrong. It’s latin, like magna cum laude. It basically means “with.”
The whole “open to work” thing started during the pandemic, when everyone was supposed to be staying at home. It was how chuds signaled to each other that they didnt care about the lives of others, that the economy was more important than people dying. The fact that anyone is still using these banners is just… weird.
How would it help to leave? Lots of cowards have already done so. Have you ever considered that maybe it’s because so many progressives are leaving that now we don’t have the numbers you want to see when we protest? That the people who would have been protesting are already gone?
I’m fully willing to die fighting fascism in this stupid civil war, but it isn’t a war until we get some governors and coast guard on board. Until that point, anyone who does anything violent is just a ‘lone terrorist’ and will probably be disappeared to El Salvador.
Leaving is not speaking out. Leaving is not fighting. It is only for your own survival, and it leaves the rest of us with less to fight with and less to fight for.
I’ve wanted to make something like this for a while, but I never knew where to find such tiny scrap wood pieces like what you have. I certainly don’t have the tools to make custom pieces, which seems like it’d be necessary. Unfortunately it looks like there are a ton of cheap “alleys” and even diy kits being sold now, so not likely to make any money even though they’re cool.

OP did say that in this particular instance, and I may have missed that on first read. But this advice is all over the place generally, and I’ve frequently received this advice IRL, with no caveats or context, so it’s not always a matter of “keep scrolling.”
I’m not doing what that article is talking about. I guess instead of reminding people that there are a lot of neurodivergent people not working remotely, I should have just silenced myself. I mean, why even have a thread like this at all if the advice works for some people?
That one is pretty useless if you have an hourly job. Oh, I’ll just leave the store whenever I want and won’t get fired, hmm? And the infuriating thing will still be there when I get back.
You just reminded me that I knew a boomer who would constantly say how important it was to be in touch with your feelings. He was really proud of himself for painting his bedroom pink (for his wife, I guess, who didn’t actually care what color it was). Dude was still abusive AF. It was very confusing.
What even is this “news source”? It’s just a couple of quotes with no context, and the other posts they list sound like absolute conspiracies.
Eh, this is something you can probably change. In the last few years I’ve done a lot of processing work and am trying to make more intentional choices for myself rather than living the way other people want me to. Now when I meet new people it reminds me that I actually quite like my life and wouldn’t want to trade it for theirs.
When you post that much on a small, not-very-popular-yet site, people are going to get tired of seeing you. I’m pretty sure I’ve blocked you at least once just because you were the ONLY content I was seeing on my front page. Why would I or anyone else come to a place like this and be ok with only seeing content from one user, or the same meme over and over with slightly varying formats?
I guess technically Fallout 4 is a fps, but I’d be inclined to say it doesn’t count. I loved that game but I would never play any of the others listed.
It would make a pretty good dinosaur-themed park for kids. Put up some wire frame or animatronic sculptures, have a little train that goes around the 10 acres. Have a big dirt pit where kids can dig for bones. They would love it.
I love how everyone’s already completely forgotten JD Vance exists.
I know unfinished business doesn’t necessarily mean business in the economic sense, but it’s still funny we call it that. Like even ghosts can’t escape capitalism.
I’m sure he’ll just sue people for not buying it like he’s trying to do with his other products.
But why do we need to recreate “real life?” Don’t we already do this relatively well in books, TV, and movies? People keep saying we won’t use AI to replace creative writing, but this (and propaganda, making bot conversations seem like real people) are the only use cases for this kind of data. LLMs don’t need to improve their conversation skills. What they really need is to stop hallucinating, and this kind of data won’t help with that.
That’s really not true though. I have met so many people who are married that I would never be attracted to! And there are probably loads of people out there who would never be attracted to me or my spouse. The only thing that matters is that we’re attracted to each other.
But the fact that you use the phrase “dating successfully” like there’s a right way to do it… there isn’t. Relationships are messy, and attraction is really only a small part of the whole thing. Stop reading game theory or whatever, that’s the real reason you’re having a hard time.
I like RHCP but that “episode” was pointless. It was just an animated music video. And the sound was bad, like they recorded it while moving around the space to make it “sound 3D” or something.
