Reich however, being still an American and still living in America, and still involved in trying to make Things Better™, obviously has a different outlook and is probably more hopeful than I am.

Any past POTUS who would have said or done a thousand of what this demented orange peel says and does would have been impeached faster than you can say “Does that guy sound fascist or is it just me?”

It’s high time open source projects and anything to do with software freedom and privacy relocated outside of the US. It wasn’t great before that a lot of them are hosted in the US, but now it’s urgent. It’s not even a matter of principle anymore.

Facebook’s entire business model consists in invading as much of everybody’s privacy as possible and monetizing people’s private data. Its “products” are just honeypots to attract marks to milk for private data. You didn’t really think they turned a profit selling electronic sunshades did you?

If someone is stupid enough to buy a pair of those and put themselves under surveillance by Facebook, it’s their problem. But if I ever see anybody looking at me with those glasses on their face, they’d better remove them pronto when I ask them to or I’ll become bellicose rather quickly.
